For those of you who are confused as to why my blog has suddenly turned into European architecture porn, please know that I’m currently researching cityscapes for Mementos of the Fall, where modern mega-cities are interwoven with “excavated” classical and contemporary architecture.
If this isn’t your cup of tea, you can just block the tag #mementos for the next few days.
For those of you who said you’d be interested in a blog of just my music, I put one together over at The Sovereign Nothings.
The layout will be only music posts. The blog is searchable by type (#cover vs #original), genre (e. g., #rock, #blues, #folk rock), original band (e. g. #nina simone) or influence (e. g., #the kills). Searching these should give you the equivalent of a mini-playlist of common songs to choose from, which I think is helpful. Maybe you will too or maybe you won’t—I don’t know.
Anyway, it’s there if you’re interested.
Because I feel like my blogging has been particularly scatterbrained in recent weeks, I thought I’d post a partial list of some of my most-frequently used tags so that you can use Tumblr Savior to blacklist the topics you don’t want clogging your dash.

#tom hiddleston and tilda swinton rip apart vintage sofas - This is my tag for all things related to the film Only Lovers Left Alive. These are far and away my least rational posts, but there is a growing cache of good writing in this tag too, so use at your own risk.
#secret blog tags (or) #shadows on the wall of plato’s cave - Placeholder tags for secret-blog related posts. Basically speaking in tongues with smokeandsong and brandochunderdarkseas, my real-life partners in crime.
#i forgot alison mosshart was a thing - Because photographs of Alison Mosshart will make you temporarily forget your own name.
#i tried to contain it in an entirely separate blog and see how well that’s working - My newly minted Jack White tag. I run an archive style blog of interesting Jack White posts and photographs elsewhere, but I end up posting a fair share of things that are directly related to my personal artistic inspiration here. If Mr. White or The White Stripes or The Raconteurs or The Dead Weather aren’t your cup(s) of tea, this is probably a good tag to block.

I cleaned 30 GB of junk off of my computer this morning (mostly old recordings), but I also found some good stuff I’d forgotten. Moral of the story: neatness, people. Virtual neatness.
